    Dynamips for Mac

Has any one been able to get dynamips working on Mac, I have a mac book pro with 4 gigbytes of memory, I keep getting the following error when I try to run internetwork expert topology .net file 4.01  " *** Warning:  Could not set working directory to /Applications/Dynagen/internetworkexpert/working/ on server localhost:7200

*** Error:  errors during loading of the topology file, please correct them

    Press ENTER to continue

Can anyone tell me what this messages means and what I need to do to correct this error, I can not find any answers online regarding how to properly run dynamips on Mac machine, The internetworkexpert site only shows you a tutorial for running dynamips on windows pc machine.

I use GNS3 on my Mac book pro and it works just fine - download it and give it a shot.

    RE: Dynamips for Mac

change from local host to 127.0.0.1 also make sure directory exists.

I am running GNS3 on MACBOOK with 2GB and runs like a dream :-) I did create my own topology though from scratch.

    Re: RE: Dynamips for Mac

I have the full router topology running on my Mac mini. I always use my real IP address for the server to connect to. I used to have issues using 127.0.0.1 or localhost (could of just been my setup as well.) If the directory exists check the security rights to it, or create a /temp directory and try setting the working directory to that.

    Re: Dynamips for Mac

    Hi,

It means either the directory doesn't exist or it may be a problem with permissions. Are you running dynamips as superuser (i.e. sudo)?

    Cheers,

    Steve

Anthony, I have tried,  GNS3 with your advice but I have not been able to get it configured properly,  Have you be able to get it working with the internetworkexpert  .NET file I have not been successful  using this file I need to use this file because I have purchased the R&S workbook for Dynamips.  Can you some how tell me how you have your GNS3 confgured for your MAC book pro. I don't understand how to configure the app for MAC book pro.

Download the .dmg, install... and it just works. Theres really nothing else to it.

I would reccomend you stick with Dynagen though.
