    rack1SW2 Vlan issue

    Hello

     

    I'm trying to create vlans on dynmips IE rack1SW2 and when i go to exit I get the following error.

     

    %not enough spac on flash to store vlan database. trying squeeze...First create squeeze log by erasing the entire device

    % error squeezing flash - (Missing or corrupted log)

    Error on database apply 40: NV storage failure

    Use 'abort' command to exit

     

     

    Please advise

    You can sqeeze the flash manually (I think its on the dynagen tutorial page), or designate the vlan.dat to be in nvram instead. But I suggest not having a working directory, and keeping a .net file in that folder. SO much easier and convenient. That way, you can have many ones for the same lab at different tasks. Will be a hog on hard disk space, but with these huge hard drives, who cares?

    - console s1, configure hostname, copy run flash: (with erasing flash:), write memory, stop s1, exit dynagen - start dynagen, console s1, sh flash: (s1-config is still there) - vlan database - vlan 100 name blafasel - apply - exit - sh flash (vlan.dat with 660 bytes), stop s1, exit dynagen - start dynagen, console s1, sh flash (vlan.dat still has 660 bytes) - vlan database - sh current (vlan 100 is still there) - vlan 200 name foobar - apply - exit - sh flash (vlan.dat with 660 bytes marked deleted and vlan.dat with 720 bytes) - stop s1, exit dynagen - start dynagen, console s1 - int f0/0, switchport access 100, no shutdown - sh vlan-switch:
