VSI Role in Multiservice Switching Networks

    Hi Guys,

I am confused a little. The VSI is a message-based protocol used to control the operation of the controlled ATM switch. It success is based on the resource partitioning done on the controlled switch.

Assuming that both MPLS and say Voice switching services are utilizing the same controlled ATM switch, there is only one VSI interface. There is also a master-slave relationship between the controller and the controlled switch. How many masters are needed for the 2 switching services?

I am not very clear but in order for me to understand MPLS fully, I will need to clear these doubts.

To add on, I believe MPLS and PNNI are two different controllers.

    Hi,
From past experience, Cisco's blue print does not go into details about everything you will find in the exam. Secondly, if you have tried Internetwork Expert's lab manual, they have the habit of making the exam questions and labs much tougher than the actual CCIE lab. In order to meet the demands and pressure of pre and post CCIE, you must go beyond the usual.

At the end, you have various ways of solving Cisco's evil CCIE lab sections.

I had a friend of mine who passed the CCIE some 2 months back and he is one of the few guys who knows how to hide static routes so as to make things work out for him.

You need to get to that stage.

Don't just seek to complete the blueprint but make sure you understand the nitty-gritty of that evil lab exam.

I got the answers to my questions though.

    Kind Regards.
