    GNS3 issue....CCIE lab setup, only 16ethernet ports avail and i need 21?

    hi all

Im setting up my lab and following the IE cabling diagrams however ive noticed something that is going to hold me back unless someone out there knows a solution..

To replicate a 3560switch im using a 3640 with a 16ESW. (thats 16 ethernet ports) Now thats fine however, when im trying to connect my links IE uses ports say sw1 -> sw4 it uses fa0/19-21. Now this will impact my initial configs when i pre load them as they all ref ports above 16 (my limit on a 16ESW). Now without having to manaully go through everything and rename/reconfigure my port numbers, has anyone else got around this?

    Many THanks

abx(recently passed ccie written and on his merry way to the lab 11th may 2008)

    forgot to add:

A solution ive worked out which im not keen on (due to pc limitations of running more instances of idle pc) is to remove the 3640-16ESW and replace it with an ethernet switch configured with 24 ports that is connected to a router.

If you arent using the Dynamips workbooks, you will have to go through and edit all your configurations to support the hardware you're using.

Correct... and I honestly see no reason to use the Dynamips workbook since you can use the regular workbooks in Dynamips with no problem, assuming you have a couple switcvhes sitting around :)
