    dynamips for wb-vol1?

Has this question been asked before? if so i apologize for repeating it.

Why is there no dynamips for vol1 at the moment yet there is one for vol2?

I ask this because of the limitation on the support to virtual switches, we need to use a router with a 16ESW module and then use the vlan database however, the vlan database is completely ignored in vol1 (non-dyna version). So does this mean in the exam you dont need to know the vlan database, ?

The VLAN database configuration on the catalyst switches is legacy, and deprecated.  You can accomplish all the same things from the database just by moving your configs to global configuration.  Also I will post a .net file that maps exactly to the diagram of the volume 1 workbook topology, so they'll be no need to worry about the switching configuration.  Beyond the Bridging & Switching section everything else is Frame Relay, layer 3 routing or above.

    HI Bryan,

That .net file for the Vol I workbook will come in rather handy as I am working on Vol I and will switch now to the 5.0 version and it seems they all use the same topology as Vol II workbooks.....or at least a standardized topology.

I think that's great b/c I used v4.1 Vol I for Frame Relay, EIGRP, and RIP on GNS3.  The only inconvenient thing was having to tear down your GNS3 topology everytime the setup changed from task to task and that would take a lot of time creating new topologies.

I'm really looking forward to that adapted .net file.  I already have the IOS I'm going to use and everything.

    Thanks,

    Ahmed
