Workbook I version 5 lab questions

I am new on the lab, and today is the first time i log into the lab. after getting used to the environment.....

i started sesion 1.1; First of all, i downloaded the "full layer 2" initial config to my config. One of the task is asking to assign VLAN to switch port, but I found

out on the config for this are already on the initial config., so do the vlans are also created. Then I try to ping the ip as mentioned on the labbook, but wasn't

    successful.

Did i got the wrong initial script or i need to use some other initial config script to do the practice?

Or should i try to upload the indiviual session script (trunking, span-tree, etc)?

have anyone try those before, and go through ok?

    any suggestion is appreciated.

Load the basic IP addressing configs not the full layer two.  I think Brian is planning on changing the names of the configs for the final release.

Re: Workbook I version 5 lab questions

thanks! i will try this. My assumption will be by using the basic ip addressing initial configuration, i hope i can pretty much follows through the lab

from session 1.1 through the end of the workbook I; with some minor change on the way based on the question...I also saw there are some config

when i go to the lab (under the control panel??), you can pick each individual session, do someone try that before?

    thanks.

Yes those initial configs should take you through the B&S section.  You may have to reload them in the middle some where I can't remember exactly.  For some the other labs IP Services, QOS etc they have their own set of initial configs separate from that first main download.

Re: Workbook I version 5 lab questions

I'm also new to this.  Please correct my understanding if I'm mistaken.

From "basic.ip.addressing" I should swap the initial configuratios of all devices (r1-r6, sw1-sw4) with the existing initial configs.  For example, open "ie.routing.and.switching.topology.4.10.net" and redirect:

    cnfg = C:\Program Files\Dynamips\sample_labs\internetworkexpert\initial.configs\R1.initial.config.txt

to the configurcation r1.txt" of "basic.ip.addressing"

    Is this correct?
